Meet our very first Intern, Kara Sullivan. She talks about her career goals, future aspirations, and what she wants to get out of her internship at LEB Insurance Group.
Where are you from?
I’m originally from Rosendale, WI but moved to Fond du Lac, WI.
Where are you attending school?
I attend Grand Canyon University. Although the name is misleading, it is located in West Phoenix.
What are you studying in school?
I am studying Business Administration with a minor in Marketing.
When will you graduate?
I anticipate graduating in 2023.
What are you hoping to learn from this internship?
I am looking for more experience in the professional business realm. I want to see how a company is run, how people collaborate, and how I can use the skills I currently possess and improve on others.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love hiking! I also enjoy traveling and exploring new places; even if it’s just a cute coffee shop that I’ve never been to.
What is your dream job?
I don’t want to limit myself to one career path because my ideal dream job now might look different ten years from now. However, my dream job would be something that allows me to be my own boss!
List three words to describe yourself.
I would describe myself as ambitious, diligent, and audacious (although, my family would say that’s just a professional term for “diva”.)
Finally, name three fun facts about yourself.
- I’m obsessed with pandas (I have one tattooed on my foot)
- I could eat pickles every day of my life
- I swam with a pod of wild manatees on an island off of Florida
